One of the biggest diseases suffocating our community is mental health stigmas that keep us from connecting. Stigmas that take flight whenever, however they can. Black and POC communities typically experience unique challenges in accessing mental health resources and services, including disproportionate levels of poverty, homelessness, physical health issues, post-trauma, and unemployment that exacerbate mental illness or create barriers to access. To create change we must all work together to dismantle the stigma of mental illness, share our resources, and create new or revive practical methods of healing.
Join us for presentations, a resource fair, and open discussion on breaking the stigma of mental illness in our communities and the ways in which we can support each other in accessing mental health resources and services.
